Matching, Mixing, Materials...

A play of materials in varied palettes and textures can make a space look aesthetically pleasing. Designer Vinithra Amarnathan of WeeSpaces, shows us how to select the best combinations for a classic look…

Part of a small home with a rustic cottage chic style, this bathroom was designed in a clean, earthy palette that would flow with the rustic modern vibe of rest of the home. The floors are covered in a distressed pattern tile, while a beautiful handmade brick tile in tones of beige covers the shower area. Gold fixtures from Kohler complete the look.

Bathed in a rustic teal tile with hints of a copper patina, this forms a quiet haven in an industrial-chic home designed in Hyderabad. The bold colour instantly uplifts the small bathroom and the distressed feature of the tile links it to the industrial chic feel of the home. The countertop is made of poured concrete, with gold fittings from Kohler.

Created to be a clean and bright room, this all white space uses a smart grey-and-white combination, combined with gold fixtures to uplift and give it a luxe vibe. Slate grey tiles on the floor, and a marble tile all over, with Carrara marble countertops and French-gold fittings from Kohler, completes the luxurious feel.
